Hello, While at the Salt Lake City LDS library and librarian steered me to the Attebok for Skjaak and it contained quite a bit of information about my family. However, it mostly gave names and dates. Can I assume that all of the births, marriages, and deaths recorded in the book occurred in that area? I would like to give a location for each bit of information in my records if possible. Thank you for your help, Linda --

Just recieved some obituaries for some Engberg people who were in Michigan, not sure if they were related to mine. Charles Engberg b. 24 Sept 1857 born near Stockholm, Sweden died in Ironwood, MI., 4 Oct. 1933, no mention of his parents names but says he had a sister still in Sweden. Mrs Charles Engberg, born in Sweden (no birth date) died 4 March 1931 no mention of what her name was before marriage. Mrs. Axel Engberg b. 26 Dec. 1871 in Sweden and came to the U.S. in 1905, married Axel Engberg who was born in Ironwood, MI. No mention of what her name was before she married. If anyone thinks they might be related, let me know and I will send you the full obit. Cidney Engberg

In my research today, I stumbled upon some possible birth records for Vaagen. I can't read them. I want to find one for Karen Jakobsdatter born April 4th, 1824. I am certain she was born here, I have the census record from 1865 and it states this is her birth place. I was looking here today but was unable to translate. http://home.online.no/~asjonass/kilder/18nord/1865vaag.htm Can anyone give some insight on getting this specifically? I am trying to learn her mothers name.

If you are sure that you are interested in Flaa 20 miles south of Trondheim, I can tell you that Flaa was a municipality between 1880 and 1964. Now it is a part of Melhus municipality. I have been living in Trondheim for 13 years and have passed through Flaa dozins of times. It is a typical agricultural area and featured by the Trondheim-Oslo main road passing through. The most famous man from Flaa is the honoured Per Borten, former prime minister in Norway. As far as I know, he is still living there. You will find some snapshots from Melhus at: http://www.melhusguiden.no/geografi/foto/index.html I can't see that any of these are from Flaa though. [Be aware that there is a Flaa municipality in Hallingdal some 40 miles West or Northwest of Oslo too] Knut Bryn, Molde
