Regine Dalsveen b. ca. 1856 emigrated 1876 or 1881 to La Crosse 6. Anne Marie Dalsveen b. ca. 1859, emigrated 14/5-1880 to La Crosse - we have found an old letter from America in Biri, written by a man called Henrik Olsen Sæther in 1883. He has emigrated the year before, and tells about how the life is in Wisconsin. It seems like his wife and Anne Marie Dalsveen is working toghether at an English Family. I am also interested in descendants of Henrik Olsen Sæther and his wife Eli Pedersdatter. Their daugther Hanna emigrated with her parents, Regine emigrated in 1880 to La Crosse and Antonette emigrated in 1883. 7. Otto Dalsveen b. 16/11-1859 emigrated emigrated 14/5-1880 to La Crosse. 8. A while ago there was a request for a look up on the Emigration CD for Sweden for a person by the name of Ljunggren. I just finally received some additional family information from my cousin on my Swedish ancestors and noticed that my great aunt, Anna Sofia Wallin married someone by the name of Ljunggren... there is no more, but they immigrated to Australia on 24 May 1896 according to my new found information. I am trying to find the birthplace and the names of his parents and their birthplace, for my paternal grandfather Johan Bergqvist, born December 18,1868. He emigrated from Oslo May 24, 1889. Those records show he was from Wermland, Sweden, going to New York. In America, his first name was John, middle name was August, and the last name was spelled Bergquist. Recently I asked some of the same questions about some of my ancestry who took the same trip in 1906. I learnt that the voyage took something between 12 and 14 days. The travellers had to border a train in Hull to take them across to Liverpool. I think you should take the translations produced by that tool with a bit of scepticism. I wrote a number of English sentences for translation to Swedish. I then switched from Swedish to English, with the proper Swedish wording of the sentences. Here are the results: 1a. Where do you come from? Swedish "translation": Var vill du komma av? 1b. English "translation": Hi , midst name is Flirtation. (How did they know that???) 3a. I canŽt say that the translation is good.
