    3. I can't think of any applications that you would of used or had with windows that come on a Imac, that’s the bad news, the good news is a google search for free Mac software includes a lot of things. While I like the Mac OS I hate the the price they charge for both software and hardware. Memory from apple is a joke $200 for 4gb module. I have and older g5, But I haven't even turned it on in a couple of years,,,I might have some software laying around, but I'm not sure what,,I 'll take a look and see if I kept any of it, and if so you can have it as I don't intend to use the thing anyway. I'll look down the basement where I keep all my relics and let you know. I only used that thing for Music and video, so I don't hold out much hope I'll have anything useable. I'll let you know what I find and whether it will work with Lion. I now realize I do Not, specially about iMacs. I seem to be in strange territory I have a brand new iMac, Im just coming to terms with the Mouse, which has a mind of its own. Now Im slowly venturing into the programs Does the iMac come with software like a email/internet program? Does it have a basic word processing program? From what I can see it doesn't. If it does where do I find it on the computer? Do I have to now learn a new language to use it, to tell you the truth, it scares me as nothing is familiar Help Will Be APPRECIATED Annette Aksenov Please help me work out what I need to get in order of practicality & need > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > ******************** Gen-Newbie's website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~newbie/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. George, Wasn't the older G5 a non-intel machine? I could be wrong, but, I don't think the software from that would run in Lion. 3. Missed answering your main question. The G5 used a IBM 64 bit processor ( first of it's kind at the time). Mine has dual Cpu,s at 2.5ghz and a Radeon video card. I just keep it because it is unique, and I just might turm it into a server. A client gave it to me ,,he was disgusted with it,Took it home and fixed it.
