Well it is done. I have set up a google group called Reading, Readers, & Revealing. Known to me as the 3 R's. I hope any who enjoy reading in any form will join the group: reading-readers--revealing@googlegroups.com For the present the group will be moderated until we get started. I really want to see many of you there and hope we have some good discussions. Any suggestions/corrections will be welcomed. I bought an HP Officejet 4500, should have copy, scan and fax capabilities. After installing, and reinstalling, there is still no scan option through the control panel on the printer . I have Vista OS. I originally had an HP PhotoSmart 2610 All-in-One (much better machine!!) but I also could not access scan through the printer control panel. After much googling and reading online, I learned to access the scan function using Paint. This worked fine and I was satisfied to do that . I find accessing Scan through Paint also works with this new HP printer... . But it frustrates me that something that should be accessed through the printer control panel does not work. Has anyone else had a problem with scan function with Vista? BTW... cheap printer but the total cost (including two ink cartridges) was less than the cost of two ink cartridges for the PhotoSmart printer!! Wanda Ridge
