    3. Connie, your clearly written instructions did not work for me. When I clicked on resize, and pulled down to lower right, I found there was drawn a white line throughout the entire obit. Ever the optimist, I clicked on crop, and that was greyed out. I do appreciate your efforts! Thank you for taking time to instruct. I rarely use Paint, but I took a screen shot of some elephants to find what to do: on the top toolbar in paint you should see crop, resize. rotate. I clicked on resize and then with the mouse at the upper left hand corner of what I want to keep, I pull down to the lower right hand corner and select what I want to keep and then click crop. Then I saved it to the desktop. Then I would open Word (I use WordPerfect, so I'm heading into unknown territory) and insert the newly saved picture/clipping from the desktop into the document. I'm sure you can resize it once it's in your document, by clicking on it (in WP that makes a box) and pulling on the corner handles. Does this make sense? Does it work? Connie Finally, with Word '07 documents, I select the text and change both font and font size with no problem; however, with the screen shot of the obit, Word will not permit me to select the item. Please explain how to do that as well. ******************** Gen-Newbie's website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~newbie/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Good Morning Fred, Have you tried using your Windows Live Photo Gallery. I use it all the time to crop and adjust colors and it works quite well with documents. I am not exactly sure that I am explaining this correctly but will give it a go. 1. Go to your Windows Live Photo Gallery and find your image then click on it. 2. The image should come up - 3. Look up right above the image and you will see and orange "Crop." icon. Click on the icon and it will give you the option to grab a little white block on the corners of the image. You can then drag those little white blocks in several directions until you have the part of the document you want. 2. Then go back to the orange crop icon and click on the bottom of it. You will note that above the image to the right it says close file. All you have to do is click on that "Close File" icon and your image will be saved and you can go back to where you have stored it - I imagine My Documents? Hope this works for you. 3. Yvonne, I thank you! After some tinkering around to familiarize self with the features of Photo Gallery, the obit turned out perfectly, just as I had hoped, so today I am able to email it to the children and grands. I am most appreciative of your time and of your clearly written instructions. Thank you.
