Snopes says nope! http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/quickfix.asp Connie Hi Jim, I don't know if this is of any worth to you, but many years ago someone told me to keep from having 'bots' take your address book, make the first entry a number instead of a name, a number like 1000. Bots cannot read numbers. I did that and although I have been on some shaky websites knowing full well it was not a safe website, I have not had my address book compromised...don't know if it has prevented hijacking or not, but it hasn't done any harm either...every time I export my address book to another mail program, the #1000 goes too... Now Im slowly venturing into the programs Does the iMac come with software like a email/internet program? Does it have a basic word processing program? From what I can see it doesn't. If it does where do I find it on the computer? Do I have to now learn a new language to use it, to tell you the truth, it scares me as nothing is familiar Help Will Be APPRECIATED Annette Aksenov Please help me work out what I need to get in order of practicality & need > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
