    3. Annette, You have built in apps for the most common things you will want to do. Some of the apps included with your new Imac are Mail, Safari, ICal, Address Book, IMovie, IPhoto 'Mail' is your email client. 'Safari' is the Web Browser. 'ICal' is a calendar. 'Address Book' is of course, the address book. 'IPhoto' is a photo gallery 'IMovie' is a movie player. You can also install the usual stuff, like Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice/NeoOffice For genealogy, some available apps are Gramps, Reunion, Family Tree Maker, MacFamilyTree.
