I am such a hypocrite.....I said I would never get an ereader, that I loved books so much. I recently was offered an ebook free and I wanted it. It was only for Kindle. Well, <red-faced> I found an app called Kindle for PC on Amazon free and downloaded the book. I found more sites with free books. I also have found my local library offers download to ebooks. One site is called ManyBooks.net. All free ebooks. I guess you can't stop progress no matter how stuborn you are. I said that, too....bit found myself doing my daily bible devotion ar ESV online, reading most news online, etc. so it dawned on me that I may read more and use little bits of available free time if I have an eReader as it eliminates the drive to/from stores, the library, etc. to get books. Plus, I do like the added convenience of cloud storage and all the freebies that came with my amazon Prime subscription which I had anyway...so, I began hinting I really like the Kindle Fire in late November... Other than Barnes and Noble, has anyone found a good site to download free Nook books from? Thanks Debi
I'm pretty much certain I said that too! But I love my Kindle. I have so many books, most free, that I'll never run out of stuff to read. Amazon also has a Kindle Daily Deal (you'll have to look around their site for that, I can't find it, although I do have their email to me with today's offer). The other day I got Life of Pi for about 0.99 from the Kindle Daily Deal; I think it was a best seller. I am enjoying it immensely. I also have some books in actual paper that I want to read, but never get around to picking them up. New Years Resolution: read the books that aren't on the Kindle. Yes, that'll do.
