    3. Try designating IrfanView as the TWAIN control, many here do and it works well. http://www.sticksite.com/irfanview/ Elaine We are what we repeatedly do. --Aristotle Hello Ridge On Friday, January 6, 2012, you wrote > I bought an HP Officejet 4500, should have > copy, scan and fax capabilities. > After installing, and reinstalling, there is > still no scan option through > the control panel on the printer . 3. Thanks for this option. I have never used IrfanView but have read much on this list about it's capabilities. I will check it out. Thanks again. 1. [GN] Irfanview and new printer whiich will not scan from control panel

    3. I downloaded IrfanView and scanned a photo. There was no option to 'send to email recipient' from the completed scan. Had to save to file then send file. From the scan on Paint I can send direct to email. Seems easier to me, if one intends to attach to email to go through Paint. Otherwise either program will work with the printer to scan. Thanks. Still frustrating that something that should work, doesn't.
