I will be buying a new computer in the next week or so. I now have a very nice monitor and speakers are not that important to me. The question is: How important is it to buy the monitor and speakers that are suggested with the new computer? I am looking to buy a H. Am currently using Dell monitor, etc. I've always bought the "package deal" but if I don't buy new monitor, speakers and keyboard, I can upgrade the operating system. After downloading 13 updates yesterday my computer failed to restart. After several attempts got a restart but could not do a system restore or disk check. Finally was able to do a disk check, and everything seems to be fine today. It's a Dell, 2007 Vista Home basic, which has given great service but I usually get at least 7 years from a computer. I know this one is on its way out so want to replace it before having any more trouble. I will not download any more updates. Just wondered what you thought about keeping same monitor, etc. Wanda
