OK, Nancy, what you want is a "header" or "footer" which will maintain the page numbering. That way it is not in the body of your journal, but shows up in gray, printing as usual. I don't have 2000, but I don't think this has changed markedly. Beginning at the first page of your document. At the top of the screen, you have some tabs. One is probably "insert" Click on Insert. Find an icon that says "page number" Click on "page number." Choose where you want it (top). You will probably be able to choose a format at that point. I like "page X", but up to you That will put a page number on each page. Don't mess with them after that. Let us know if this works. Otherwise, we'll have to find a 2000 user.
