Wait for someone on the list who understands and know computers to get a correct answer. However, when that shields appears in my task bar or what ever and is located at the bottom near the time frame, this is what I do. Turn off the computer and it will ask me if I want to down loac update and and then the computer will turn itself off after the update it finish and I answer yes. I also use XP pro. But please wait until you get a reply from someone who knows computer and I certainly do not. ellen For the last couple of days a yellow shield keeps appearing in the task > bar. > It shows that it is downloading updates, but it never gets past 3%.
