I just got a new laptop with windows 8. I've had it 2 weeks. I hated it at first but, now I don't think it's so bad. It is just a matter of learning where everything is. I use the desktop the same way I always have. The start page will bring up things you want to check, but I just click on through to desktop and use it the same way as always. Really, Start Page is just an extra step.
