Yes, I do the same in Win7. Doreen is right on point. There were a number of security updates last Tuesday. Some caused some problems with third party software and so Microsoft issued more updates a day or two later. Tuesday is their regular day. I was among those who had some problems, so I uninstalled the updates (used a restore to restore to before the updates came in) and then reinstalled. The later updates caused me no problem. And not everyone was affected by the updates since it involved software on the specific computer. I am an early adopter of almost all security updates since I am on the computer day and night and want it secure. Some wait a day or two before updating. Elaine Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. --unknown Hello doreen On Monday, April 15, 2013, you wrote > Jean I always right click on the little yellow > sheild and a box comes up > that tells you what the updates are I am also using XP > Doreen
When I click on the shield all I get is nothing. Nothing opens or pops up. If I place the cursor on the shield I get downloading updates: 3%. This shows for a while then the shield disappears. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ETM" <[email protected]> To: "doreen wheatley" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, April 15, 2013 2:38 PM Subject: Re: [GN] Computer updating > Yes, I do the same in Win7.
