To My Friends, Yes, I must echo what Elaine has said - well personally I can't qualify as "younger and more acquainted with computers." However, even as I age I am still "so" fascinated with these wonderful machines. From the bottom of my heart I thank all of you for all of your help and willingness to answer the call for help. George, I have spent the day attempting to understand the event log - whew. I can't by any stretch of the imagination say whether I found anything or not. I felt like I was reading a foreign language. Yep, this computer still is hanging but not quite as much as it was and seems to recover a bit quicker after I updated 17 drivers. I wonder how long this machine was on on the Floor at Office Max. I bet it's a couple of years old - dumb me well not dumb, but I was desperate to find a Windows 7. Well, I found one. About the only thing I haven't tried is to try a new browser, a new email program and remove AVG and go back to ME for my virus program. Oh, and as George says "take the system back to the original install." I am about ready to take you up on that offer. And yes, I miss the chatter we used to enjoy so much. Once again thank you, thank you, thank you.
