I had absolutely none of that trouble Woody and I do have the single program, Photo Retoucher, which works beautifully. I even mentioned it on my Facebook page to qualify for the free upgrade for life. I am sorry about what happened to you, but it did not come from PhotoRetoucher, something else crept in there. I would write to the developers if you still want their program and ask what happened. I think they are pretty responsive.
