Has anyone tried this uninstaller: IOBIT Uninstaller at http://www.freenew.net/windows/iobit-uninstaller-2-0/68873.htm I have it and it was the only one that not only did a good uninstall, it also cleaned up the "hidden" bits that the program left behind. It also got rid of the ZoneAlarm toolbar when all else failed. It's free, so that's a plus! I don't get paid by them, I just like their product. But, I have, with the help of a very knowledgeable computer fellow, tried everything. It simply refuses to uninstall. Michael thinks that my last resort will be to reinstall AVG and then use the AVG uninstaller and see if it will remove. I haven't done that yet. The thought of putting it back on gives me the shivers. While Googling I found a query from another fellow that had the same problem. He called AVG and the tech he talked with had never heard of this bar, but was able by going into his computer, finally figured out how to remove it. The Tool Bar is dormant and not causing any problems. I just simple don't want it on my computer. I'm getting pretty bugged about some of these companies that claim to be free but with their free product sometimes you pay a high price. I agree with Elaine - pay if you can. That's what I am going to do from now on. Elaine if you read this I did have Web Root on and when I started having all the problems with this computer I took it off and then somehow deleted my key and my download. So that's some bucks down the drain. I think I will keep MSE on for the time being. Take care. Anuyone using the free or pro version of Advanced System Care should have available the Uninstaller under Tools. iObit is the company involved in both products. Elaine It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. --Aristotle Hello Cathy On Friday, March 29, 2013, you wrote > Has anyone tried this uninstaller: IOBIT Uninstaller at > http://www.freenew.net/windows/iobit-uninstaller-2-0/68873.htm > I have it and it was the only one that not only > did a good uninstall, it also > cleaned up the "hidden" bits that the program > left behind. Elaine and Kathy Champion, Thanks to the both of you for you advise and help concerning my AVG problem. Finally this afternoon I found a AVG Tech that was knowledgeable enough to remove AVG from my computer. I have to say that I would certainly never put AVG back on my computer. It just simply found a home in my programs, my users folder, FireFox Add On's, Registry, my Uninstall and Install program - you name it was there. It would tell me it was uninstalled and then an hour later it was back. But, keep your fingers crossed for me - I am still not feeling like celebrating a victory yet. I think I have every Uninstaller invented on my computer - but will leave on i0Bit and Revo. Again my gratitude to you.
