Hi Yvonne,   Have you checked to see if your drivers need updating?  I use SlimDrivers and it's pretty fast to use.  My husband never updates his and is always having problems, and I've fixed a few on my computer also.   Just a thought. Good tip Cathy,, It is a great little app, but you do have to pay attention to details when it comes to downloading and installing it to make sure you don't get a few extra toolbars or other stuff you don't want. Also it will nag you to buy it. Given those little tidbits it is very useful in identifying outdated or sometimes missing drivers,,,saves a ton of time. I use it on just about every system that comes in. Cathy, Thanks so much for telling me of about SlimDrivers. I had many drivers that needed updating. It is sure a spiffy little tool. Maybe the updated drivers will take care of my problem. You are very welcome!  I've tried a lot of driver update programs and this one seems to very the easiest, doesn't put you through a lot of steps.   My computer is doing some weird stuff too but I'm in the middle of uploading my largest tree with a huge media file.  It's been processing for five days now.  I called Ancestry to check the actual progress and they told me that while it's taking a long time it IS progressing, and to leave it finish.   Once it does and I'm able to back it up I plan to split it into two trees, and then maybe two more so it doesn't take so long to update.    I love this group; always someone has an answer, or at least a suggestion.   Keep us informed! One of the best features of Gen-Newbie is that it is a community willing to share information and knowledge. I missed any previous conversation about SlimDrivers but installed the free version this evening and ran it. I had six updates for major items on this one year old laptop. I went for them, it took longer than I expected (which made me think the paid pro version might be real nice) and I think after a restart that my graphics may look better. Could be a placebo effect, but I am happy to hear about SlimDrivers and thank you, too, Cathy. This is no longer a talkative group like we once were. I think we are more serious, perhaps younger, more acquainted with computers than our previous generations here on Gen-Newbie. But we still share and help and that makes me happy.
