I don't use AVG and the move back to Webroot from MSE worked well for me. I do use ASC so it might have already taken out any leftover stuff. Do a bit of goggling, Joy. If there is a problem with the most recent AVG it will show up right away on google. I don't think an AV program would turn off system restore unless you were going after a nasty and shut it off to get into it.
