    3. Hi Gang; I have 3 different sets of phones hooked up in my in my home at this time. 1) a HARD line, so that thee is always a dial tone to the outside, 2) 3 cordless units, with mesgs intake, one for each bedroom and main bath, and my p/c is wireless. 3) cell phone, for use when I drive the 150 miles to treatment. Why? my illness leaves me weak at times and neighbors are close as phone as it 911 if that bad. All this works off of Verizon single home line. Isn’t technology wonderful? I need to buy a cordless phone for a senior lady who lives alone. I'm unfamiliar with these phones and would appreciate help. There's only one phone jack and it's in in the living room so....can she take cordless phone for the night into the bedroom after it charges all day in 'base' in l. room? It will stay charged overnight for emergency calls if needed? Thanks a lot - ! Yes you can buy a cordless phone and also have a deprecate base for the second phone in her room. Just remember though that if the electricity goes out so does the phone. You might get her a regular phone she can plug in if this happens. It's a nice backup in cases if emergencies. Just a thought for you. My mom encountered this when electricity went out. Also make sure the ringer is turned on. :) we found this out the hard way when we tried to get ahold of her during the storms up north. Hope this helps. However as Internet Explorer is a necessity on the computer even though I use Firefox as my browser I don't know if any of the cookies that IE use would actually be necessary or beneficial. Would you have any idea? Running Windows 7 and IE 11. I have run MS Security Essentials and SuperAntiSpyware to check for viruses & clean the system (both are up to date, as well as my Windows updates), but I still get the message and IE freezes. Any suggestions or clues as to what might be causing this or how to eliminate it. ------------------------------ Message: 9 Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2014 22:04:08 -0800 From: Bruce Kemp <wb7ooe@wbcable.net> Subject: Re: [GN] Cordless Phone ?
