Kelly Not sure if anyone has responded to you yet. Yes you can buy a cordless phone and also have a deprecate base for the second phone in her room. Just remember though that if the electricity goes out so does the phone. You might get her a regular phone she can plug in if this happens. It's a nice backup in cases if emergencies. Just a thought for you. My mom encountered this when electricity went out. Also make sure the ringer is turned on. :) we found this out the hard way when we tried to get ahold of her during the storms up north. Hope this helps. Ok so- the 2nd base thing only needs to plugged in? Not connected to a phone line?
