Post on the county's web site. One such site is the Los Angeles Co. USgenweb. http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.california.counties.losangeles/mb.ashx I've have had many good people (my "angels") come through for me. Some may charge for their services (research time, gas money, etc.) Many will not accept payment. One such person was that way, so I sent him a couple of books of stamps so he would have the postage to mail obits to other people he did look ups for. Many libraries also charge a nominal fee. Even if the library I've contacted doesn't charge for their services, I send them some money to help support their program. They can put it where they need it the most.; postage, genealogy dept., etc. I hope this helps.
