I am using Firefox browser. In the past week when it opens it covers the entire screen. I can get to the Red X and the back button but I have to put the cursor up there in either the right or left corner. I also covers the tray at the bottom. I have to minimize the screen to see the start tray. How can I get it to behave like it did before without hogging the entire screen? Chrome behaves but the ancestry window so small I can't read it. Several months ago Ancestry suggested I try another browser which solved the problem. IE keeps bugging me that I am using an out of date version; I don't even like IE. using Windows XP
I have not seen a reply to this, but have played with Firefox and I think I know what happened to it. Somehow, you clicked on Full Screen. When you put your cursor at the top right to get the red x, then click on the box next to that x. It is the icon that minimizes or maximizes the screen. Your screen should then be smaller, with the tool bars showing. Then, take your cursor and put it on the side of this smaller screen and when the double pointed arrow show, pull it to the side. Do the same with the bottom or top, whichever is not in place. That should make your Firefox cover the screen again. When I did this and logged out of FF, then logged in again, it stayed the way it should be. If you do not use IE, I would just download the current version and install it and you will not get any of the messages again. I do not like it either, but keep it up to date, just to avoid the nagging messages. As far as ancestry, I have not had that problem, so the only suggestion is to use the maximize button, if you have not already done so - which I suppose you have. If it is maximized and still small, try pulling the screen as I said above. Maybe I did not understand what is happening, so if that is the case, is it the screen or the printing on the Ancestry page? Hope this will solve at least one of the problems.
