    3. thnx, Woody, I was just talking to someone who told me to not stress over the file format. He said there is a plethora of software 'out there' so it really doesn't matter what format the camera records in. And we'll def need to buy some extra cards, my dau is going to Disneyland and I'm sure will do alot of movie taking. Our 'picture' camera does take movies, but the quality on one of the newer video cameras will be much better, better zoom. Our 'picture' camera won't zoom in and out as soon as the record button is pushed, a big draw back. Anyway, I thank you, Sir :) And I will check out the Flip cameras, forgot about them. melissa On Fri, Nov 4, 2011 at 2:55 PM, <BogusWoody@aol.com> wrote: > Melissa, > See > http://www.amazon.com/Flip-UltraHD-Video-Camera-Generation/dp/B0040702HA/ref=dp_ob_title_ce > This looks like it will get the job done.  Has USB and HDMI. > Only has 2  hours of storage, so it would pay to have extra 8 GB chips > around, some  extra lithium batteries when the internal power runs  down. > I don't have one.  Cameras nowadays  can make videos, and I rarely > use that feature. > > Woody > ==================== > pezealogy@gmail.com writes: > I  need help understanding the newer video cameras, if the thread can > be  allowed??  I need to get one for my daughter to take on a vacation > soon,  and just when I thought I was getting somewhere I read that the > type of file  the one(s) I was looking at are a big hassle and not easy > at all to do  anything with (proprietory mbt file extension, .mbt). > > I was specifically  looking at the COSTCO website and the specific > camera's description said it  was easy to put on Facebook, Youtube, > plus we want to put clips on DVDs, and  play directly on the computer > or TV.  I know we need an HDMI hookup, and  USB, but it's the type of > files now that I'm confused about. > > So, if  .mbt s are so difficult, how can the description say it's easy > to do those  things. :(  What other file extentions are there, and > which ones are  best?  I've only looked at Costco and Walmart.  And the > only thing  we thought we'd decided on so far was wanting one of the > 'barrel' shaped ones  as opposed to the rectangular sort of flat  ones. > > melissa > > ******************** > > > ******************** > > Gen-Newbie's website: > > http://www.rootsweb.com/~newbie/ > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
