Here is the orginal known recipie. Heat oven to 300f. Container to hold 6-C, approx. Bakeproof. 1]. Soak 2 C navy beans overnight. 2]. Bring to a boil in the SAME wate reduce heat, COVER and simmer for 1 hour. Drain, Save this water. 3]. 1/2 lb SALT PORK, cut this slab in half.(width wise) putting half on the bottom of the cooking pan . 4]. ADD: 1/2 c molasses, 2 tsp. grated dry onion,and 1/2 tsp. dry mustard. Stir good. 5]. ADD: other 1/2 of SALT PORK slab on top, Add a bit more water if needed. to cover. 6[. Cover with lid and bake in the oven for 5-6 hrs., adding water as needed. 7]. Unover and bake for 1 hr. more. Serves 6. Enjoy ~ Linda ~ Willow Creek,CA.
