This is a forwarded message From: .... valentine53179 <valentine53179@hotmail.com> re: this statement made recently: "I love bread pudding and this sounded SO wonderful!  I did a google search.....  sour lemon sauce + martha stewart.  Just a few hits down and I clicked on the recipe." but a query such as "sour lemon sauce" +"martha stewart" instead of sour lemon sauce + martha stewart would have given you 10 REAL and VALID results instead of 44,440 or even "kris  kringle bread puDDing" would have done the job... actually the + in this: sour lemon sauce + martha stewart is totally unnecessary since each of these five words is being considered in the google search as evenly valued because of how they are written and where the + was placed in conjunction to the word that follows it...... in the 44400 results, are all the entries for sour and all the entries for lemon and all the entries for sauce, etc.... google just put them all into a priority sequence based on the number of hits on all the words that were expressed.... by quoting the information, YOU tell the google computer to do more than just prioritizing them based on HITS.... if it were a query about something important, you might look at those 44,400 results and say, GEE, I AM NOT GOING TO GO THRU ALL OF THOSE! IT WILL TAKE A LIFETIME! and you m-i-g-h-t give up... so, structure the query in a method to get what you want even on the unimportant stuff...and it will become second nature
