My husband was working with the state archaeologist (in a volunteer group) and they opened a family crypt in a town near us. There had been some vandalism, and a family member was there to help identify the coffins, etc. They were old , and had broken and fallen apart. There were more people there than they had expected; the family member had a book about his family and was able to locate where servants had been buried with the family. Was very interesting.
