In my house my step grandchildren are just my grandchildren and I call them my Grandgirls. I tell them it is because they are girls and grand. I hope he does not call them this in front of them, unless they know it is just his way of saying he loves them. This child would be your wifes nephew by marriage so yours also. The children would be called great nephews in my house.
