Fred Not sure what the issue here, but let's start with: If you are looking for a file, click on "start", "documents" or "pictures", and when the Windows Explorer comes up, in the upper right corner is "search documents" and you can put in your search terms there. Otherwise, from "start" the first box above the start button says "search programs and files" -- put in your search terms there. If you meant something else, let us know what you are trying to do (an example) and we'll take it from there. The Search feature worked when computer was new, but one day just quit. I would like to be able to re-start it if someone will again explain. I should let Fred answer this, as he is one, but gandy dancers were the guys (and maybe some gals?) who laid and maintained the tracks on the railroads -- before the advent of the big machines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=025QQwTwzdU In my case (well, I "supervised?"), it's laying track for historic trolleys, with the accompanying overhead lines for power. Google it. I swear you won't be wasting your time. That's the way to find out, not here. It is also the ID that was chosen by one of our subscribers. Do you know which one? Check the archives, the mail is all there. XO Elaine When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become President. Pat writes: Otherwise, from "start" the first box above the start button says "search programs and files" -- put in your search terms there. Pat, this is the area of search that I reference. When this year old computer was new, that feature worked and worked well. A few months ago, I realized it no longer was working; sending error message: there are no matches to your search terms or something very similar. Of late, I have begun to wonder why it stopped working. Using my limited knowledge of search terms I looked on google---the number of hits was staggering----but the subject lines of the first twenty or so did no indicate solution to my problem----I did not open and read all twenty. Always glad to hear from the wife of a gandy dancer whether former or presently! Thanks for writing. I appreciate your time.
