Hi gang, well the list has been quiet for a few days? Hope that now, everyone is over the Xmas highs....what did you do special this year? Anything that your going to remember or regret? I spent my Christmas day, being a caregiver to a Cancer patient. Her name is Terri, and she is a partical remmision stage of Lukemia. She has to be away from all her family and friends but me...Dr. orders. As a Cancer survivor myself this past year, I still keep away from public events and such like crowds. Terri's chemo is so strong that she can't taste anything, isn't interested in food or drink, and the list goes on. So she thought no Christmas for her, So I gathered together some ho-ho gifts and jokes and spent the day feeding them to her, then we played cards (different games of) for 3 hours...I took her a wee slice of Cocanut Cream pie, boy did that disappear..made a u -urn at the bottom, but least it went down for a bit!. Today she is tired, but had a good time....we both feel good about christmas, and I told her, after chemo, her family can have a 2nd tree for her...she has 2 more chemo's to do , so hopefully by March, she will be in the clear...keep your fingers crossed...The Medical profession has come a long way towards stopping cancer's spread, but there is a lot of research remaining to be done...donate to the American Cancer Society often, not just breast cancer- but to Cancer studies that help all of us. ~ Linda ~ Willow Creek,CA.
You are my hero of the Season. Such caring and giving is sometimes a very rare commodity in the present day and time. You are special. ellen Hi gang, > well the list has been quiet for a few days? Linda...bless you for helping Terri....no one knows what chemo is like until they have had it. I will put Terri on my prayer list. Keep us posted on her progress.
