Am getting ready to set up a Hi Speed Internet. Have a Wireless setup but am told i need a Router. So what is the router for and why do i furnish it? I would think it was part of the set up!! Thank you. Viola. > .

I have a router for my computer. I have comcast. I don't know what it does, I just know I need it to get on the internet. Comcast gave it to me when I signed up. I was told that if I had problems with it, I should get a new one at the Comcast store. (I've had it for several years now) And it was part of the setup. But maybe they do things different now.
