    3. I guess I misspoke ... reading Les Hardy's response, you can do that if you get a Virtual XP on your computer. Apparently even if you could get Outlook Express for Windows 7, it wouldn't work. I hate to use any email programs have available except outlook express . You have so much controls over what you can do with that program. Do you plan to do it, Connie? <grin> XO Elaine Even if you do learn to speak correct English, whom are you going to speak it to? --Clarence Darrow Hello Connie On Saturday, December 24, 2011, you wrote > I guess I misspoke ... reading Les Hardy's > response, you can do that if you get a Virtual XP on your computer. > Connie > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Connie" <r.leaman@comcast.net> > To: gen-newbie@rootsweb.com > Sent: Saturday, December 24, 2011 9:17:28 AM > Subject: Re: [GN] Question > Several of us have been trying to offer you > help, Rudy; We've googled and looked and can > only find the expensive Outlook, which > apparently is not like OE. 3. Nope! As soon as my restore from Carbonite finishes (Elaine knows Carbonite has been a BIG problem for me) I will investigate Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail, and will probably then have some questions of my own. I am encountering some of Windows 7 quirks, but I don't plan to investigate too many until Carbonite finishes. I have been restoring since about Dec. 11, which is of course way too long, and am only at 62%; have been on chat with techs 3 times, during which they had access to my computer, and was scheduled for a phone chat with a 2nd tier tech yesterday, but he made too many overlapping appointments and never got around to me. Now I'm (so far) his only appointment next Wednesday! GRRRRR! Maybe I'll be 75% restored by then.
