I checked my old mail and he uses Wise, this is a quote from Keith's post this May: "Each of those programs serves a separate and individual purpose. The Avast is your Anti-Virus and SHOULD NOT be removed. The Wise Registry cleaner will help to keep your machine running faster as windows does not remove all the "stuff" in the registry when you remove a program. Wise will do just that and clean up and keep the size down on the registry which will help to keep the machine running faster. CCleaner will clean other parts of the system and machine to also help keep the machine running faster. Smart Defrag is a better program than the windows defragging one and again will help to keep the machine running better. The Ad-Aware is to remove malware and adware. Remember, this and some of the others have updates to parts as well as full program updates and it pays to keep these updated in order to have them perform up to expectations. I have or have used all of these as well as several others to keep the machine safe. Even with all that I have, I have been hit twice by 'nasties' that took considerable work to remove. All that you can do to keep the machine clean and protected is worth the space and work to keep them up to date.
