    3. Linda -- I am not an expert on merging databases, or on genealogy programs, but would you be up to trying RootsMagic Essentials - the free portion of RootsMagic? I checked the site and it says it has merge capabilities. You might want to check it out and see: http://www.rootsmagic.com/Essentials/ I started out with two or three databases and found that I had to update them all when I updated one. So, I merged mine together using the full RM program, which is the one I use. There are a couple of different merges. IF you do this, be sure to keep backups of your FMT files. Then, I think, but am not sure, that RM will just import your files. You will need to import both your files, then merge them. If they do not import, then you will need to make GEDCOM files and import them to RM. I would read the info on the RM site to make sure this is what you want to do, but I am sure happier with only one database. Good luck, whatever you decide.
