Hi Les, I am not having problems but like to learn. I can't use "scanreg" or "scanreg /fix" on my Windows 7 from my prompt run - error message says it can't find the program. I'm just wondering why - is it a program that has to be installed? Thanks. Yvonne On 12/8/2011 12:39 AM, Les Hardy wrote: > At a command prompt run scanreg /fix > > > > >
Windows 7 also doesn't do a CAD. We just have to learn. CCleaner has a "scan for issues" that will check out the registry. Be sure to back it up (it will offer) and do not alter the default settings unless you are removing an item. I.E., I like to keep my search history, it's as easy to find something there as in bookmarks. Thanks Elaine, I use CCleaner as well and do back up before I clean. I might be using Registry recklessly however because when I receive the result of the scan, then backup, I "Fix Selected Issues". Perhaps I need to Google and find out if I am using it properly. Actually on my Registry Cleaner all the boxes are checked - I have never changed it so that must be default right? I will do some studying up on CCleaner and make sure I am using it correctly. That’s because scanreg does not exist since win 98 and I have no idea why he recommeded it other than hea may have thought you were running win98. Sorry, I was living in the past for a moment there. scanreg hasn't been around since win98 died. :-[ Les Hardy On 08/12/11 16:18, Yvonne Strong wrote: > Hi Les, > > I am not having problems but like to learn.
