Hi, I have got a huge problem. I'm using windows 7home premium, and word2000. I decided to do a blog this year. Things were going fine until a couple of weeks ago. All of a sudden, "Save as" doesn't WORK!!! After I'm done typing for the day, I hit "save as". I get the "save as" box, & hit save. Then comes this error box. "MS word for windows has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you "IF" a solution is available." Hit close program, & it went back to the desktop. This has been going on for 2 WEEKS!! I've tried calling their (so called) help. I get somebody who has an accent so thick I can't understand a work she's saying. MS chat doesn't work, either. I couldn't find an email address.... Does anyone know it? Thanks -- I'm getting pretty tired of this. (haven't gotten a "notification of a solution " And I'm getting pretty tired of the 'run-a-round, I'm getting. Shalom, NancyT
If you have the disks, simply uninstall and reinstall the program. You won't lose any documents as they are not stored in the program file area in Windows7. in this version of Word normal spacing = double line spacing so 0 would equate to single line spacing it is a pain in the proverbial as everything is in double line spacing Lin Lin http://familyrootsandbranches.tribalpages.com/ On 4 February 2014 18:53, Connie Leaman <R.leaman@comcast.net> wrote: > I don't use Word, but wouldn't that be awfully hard to read? > > Connie > > I would like to permanently set my line spacing at 0/none, no spaces > between lines. > > How do I do that? > > Win7, 64 bit, Office 2010 > > > ******************** > > Gen-Newbie's website: > > http://www.rootsweb.com/~newbie/ > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
I would like to permanently set my line spacing at 0/none, no spaces between lines. How do I do that? Win7, 64 bit, Office 2010 Many thanks. Rana P.S. I tried clicking on the X at paragraphs and all are set to 0; however, that did not work, so really need help.
I don’t use Word, but wouldn’t that be awfully hard to read? Connie I would like to permanently set my line spacing at 0/none, no spaces between lines. How do I do that? Win7, 64 bit, Office 2010

This is driving me buggy. While composing messages my font changes size. My first sentence is the size I want, the second is smaller. I see this happens only in HTMLwhich I mainly use. Any ideas? Thanks much for any suggestions. Tmf

Cathy, The GRIDERS I am researching starts with Joseph GRIDER/GRYDER/GUIDER/GIDER/GRIEDER born in Rockbridge, Va. He married Ann Eliza TUCK in 1846 in Loudon or Blount County Tennessee. He had several sons and from this came the different spellings in the name. I can't get back any further than when Joseph married in 1846. It is also had to determine his age as it changes from census to census BUT I am guessing anywhere from 1810/15.. He served in the civil War as a recruiter at an advance age and when he was discharged is when we found out he was from Rockbridge. I have no idea who his parents were or if he had brother and sisters. My grandfather Francis Marion "F M" GRIDER was one of his sons. He first married Kate ODOM in Blount County Tennessee and had three children and when their mother died he left them in Tennessee and came to Alabama where he meet my grandmother and they married in Winchester Tennessee.. Thank you so much. Regina
Cathy: Noting your maiden name, Dickerson, sparks my curiosity. My family history links to Dickerson lines in several places, of which I am most interested in two: John A. Dickerson of New York (1839-??) married Adelaide "Addy" Knapp of New York in Walden, Orange County, NY, on April 12, 1865. They had a daughter, Emma S. Dickerson, who was born in Iowa in 1866 (based on 1900 US census), but they returned east and were living in New York City in 1880 and Bergen County, NJ, in 1900. Emma, by the way, married George C. Ely. John F. Dickerson (1808 or 1828-1875) was born in North Carolina and died in Jackson County, IL. His wife was Mahala Zimmerman (1830-1876), who was born and died in Illinois. They married in Jackson County, IL, on March 26, 1848. They had (at least) 10 children. [I have a DAR line that says this John was born in 1808, but 1870 census record suggests 1828 -- presumably, either could be an error.] Are you connected with either of these families? I do not know if this info will help or not, however I will pass it on. I went to school with a girl named Betty Jean Grider in Verdigris School in Rogers Co, OK. I know the family owned land near to Verdigris River. When they built a new bridge over the river, land was taken from this family. She had siblings but I don't remember much else. Try the 1940 census for that area and it might help. I also think they were of Indian Heritage but of this fact, I am not sure. ellen > I need some help with GRIDER and I have very little information. I need some help with GRIDER and I have very little information. I believe that John GRIDER born in North Carolina abt 1884 was the father of Marie, Raymond and Herman GRIDER. I think Marie was born in Missouri and Raymond and Herman was born in Arkansas. I think I find Raymond GRIDER listed as head with his sister Marie NELSON, brother Herman and sister in law Esther GRIDER in the 1940 census in San Francisco, Ca. Don't know what happened to sister Lora GRIDER and parents John and I think Malisa GRIDER. This family sure moved around a lot. Would love any information on any of these family members. This is all the information I have on these families. Thanks Regina
George, thank you for the response. As always I appreciate anything that you or any of the others on this list may offer. I have read and bookmarked the site you gave. On your suggestion I changed to Google Chrome. I use CCleaner about once a week as well as scans for malware and viruses so did not think that would be the cause of my scripting error. As I mentioned, I did disable many of the add-ons and apparently that, or the restore, solved my problem - for the time being at least. Will keep the article bookmarked. Again, much appreciation for your help and suggestions. Hope Linda, who was also having this problem, gets a fix as well. Wanda
Nancy. I did a search on New Copic and it seems to be some sort of coloring markers. Did you buy something from the company? The little envelope in front means that there is an attachment to the email. Do these emails have the same date and time? If they are from different dates, that means you are <probably> getting their email advertisements - so they are not the same thing, but from the same company. To get rid of them -- Highlight the emails in the inbox -- Hold down your shift key and then page down to the last one you want to delete. Then hit the delete key. If you did not order something from this company, or expect something as an attachment, I would not open the attachment - and even then, I would be aware that this could be a malware or virus. Careful is the best option. Joy On 1/29/2014 9:56 PM, Nancy Tollefson wrote: > Hi, > > I've got a problem that I'd like some help with. > > In my email ... First I apologise for not keeping up with all mthe folks here at G newbie,,I as many others am still having a very hard time dealing with the loss of or beloved Mom and to me a person I was much closer to than many would guess,,I kinda clam up and loose myself in in other interests which for me me is my guitars. With that said I'll try to remain a little more assessable for help. I would remind those seeking help That it is almost impossible to give a relevent response if I and others do not know what OS and browser you are using,,If memory problems give us at least a hint of how much you have. As for the problem of script errors, there are many different causes as well as cures,,So I will include a link to the relevent MS site that will at least give you a place to start, but the first thing that you can do is try usinf a different browser( I suggest chrome) and see if you are having the same problem. CHeck to see if any of the addons to your browser are being blocked by your firewall or AV programs. Reset your browser to default settings. Try compatabilty mode..Clear the Browser cache,,I preffer Ccleaner for this chore although Glary's is also a good choice if you have it. ROlling back seldom fixes these type of errors, but It can't hurt and it just might in a few cases. Here's the link to the Official MS article..http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260 Cheers George & the SixPack -----Original Message----- From: Wanda Ridge Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2014 1:35 PM To: Linda ; gen-newbie@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GN] web page not responding due to long running script Linda, there has been no answer posted yet, but this is what I did while waiting on a response: Did a system restore to a time before messages began appearing Uninstalled plug-ins.... did not know what to uninstall but just took a guess Went to start menu and disabled everything I THOUGHT was not important on that list.
