    3. I don’t know about the Ninja. But why do you want to save a PDF to a JPG? The only time I’ve ever done something like that is when I took a screen shot of something in a PDF, like a picture. I’ve only done that with the Win7 snipping tool or used prt scrn (print screen). That would be like one page or part of one page of the PDF at a time. Is that what you want to do? If you’re using Windows 8 or 8.1, someone else will have to tell you what to do. Connie ALSO can you tell me how to save a PDF to a JPG? Thank you Linda

    1. Re: [GN] How to set spacing in Word 2013
    2. Kith-n-Kin
    3. Wanda No idea what the "default" is, but I suspect that is something with 1.15 paragraph spacing ( listed in the chart as "before" and "after," the amount of space between one paragraph and another), and line spacing (the spacing that occurs when you type a line that wraps to the next line). The minimum is .6, which you will have to type in), In the Paragraph spacing, clicking the down arrow at right, you have the choices you describe. Set the "before and after" spacing to "0" and the Line spacing to "single" and then click on "set as default." IF that is what you want to use. IF that is not what you want, make it the way you want it, but be sure to click on "Set as Dafault." That will fix that problem. Your other problem, of the fonts and sizes, is fixed (near as I've been able to work out) by using the styles. Saving the modified "normal" style makes it come up with the "new" fonts and sizes. I did this and now have Times New Roman, 12 as the default style for "normal." So, "styles" fixes fonts and size (and color and many other things), while the only way to fix a new default for the line and para spacing is through the "paragraph" button. Don't give up, Wanda, we will lick MS yet! In Word 2013, under the paragraph option on the tool bar (the x in the lower left corner), what are the default numbers for : Spacing: Before and after And Line Spacing I see no option that I can turn these back to the default. 3. What I want is to change the DEFAULT so I don't have to change it every time I open Word. Don't mind the spacing so much, but changing the font every time just drives me nuts as frequently it reverts back to the default during the doc. Have tried all suggested, as well as having done all this before, but again, when I open the new doc the default is still as 11 for font size. Wanda

    3. Beth and Rana Beth is absolutely correct, but what Rana wants is to have the default "style" to be single spacing, not the 1.15 spacing that Word uses as the default. I just did some further checking and found something that, so far, works. Forget the styles for now. The place Beth recommended is the place to be, but that does not make a default change. Open up a blank document. Click on the button that controls the line and paragraph spacing. Choose "line spacing options" and adjust the before/after paragraph spacing to "0" and the "Line spacing" to "single." At the bottom click on "set as default." Say "ok" It worked for me in 2013, and since the instructions I found were for 2010, I think this will work. I'm going to try the same thing for Publisher, since it really drives me nuts! 3. Is there any way to permanently change style in Word 2013? Have followed suggestions on the Internet but nothing makes the change permanent. You will have to do this each time you create a new document.
