If you have enough room on the drive, I would copy/backup all the files/folders and when you are sure the copy was successful, delete the old files. Doing a Google search on -- file type psp -- came up with this site: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fileextensions/f/psp-file.htm It is a Paint shop Pro file, so you will need to read the site to see what you can do to open it, if you do not have that program. By the way, when you say it would save 1.6 gb memory, you are talking apples and oranges, Storage is not the same as memory. Think of it this way -- if the files disappear when you turn the computer off, that is memory. If the files remain on your computer, that is storage. My brother has a hp xp. He had a picture that somehow got over onto his screen from when he put an ad on ebay. He ran ccleaner and it got rid of the picture, but now where it was, he has a blank white page top-bottom that covers 3/4 of the screen. he says that his screensaver is behind it as he can see it, when the computer starts up, but then that blank page pops back up. He needs any ideas on how he can get rid of it. Thanks, Sue C. Nampa,Id.
I'm thinking: put a different picture as wallpaper on his desktop. http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/BC//bcs1p11.html That may not be the answer, but it popped into my head. Was your home page changed? Is something taking you to pages you did not choose? Wonder if you have a browser hijacker? If you think you do, try Hijack This. I had a hijacking problem after a download of free software, which apparently happens often. I was actually at the software homepage when it happened. Never had it before, don't want it again. My homepage became "findwide", which is hard to get rid of. It took Hijack This, Malwarebytes, and a favorite paid program Trojan Remover....all 3 to get rid of it. -----Original Message----- From: gen-newbie-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:gen-newbie-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Jack Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2014 2:01 PM To: gen-newbie@rootsweb.com Subject: [GN] Pop ups and Redirects Could someone please tell me how to get rid of pop ups and redirects? I don't know. I don't have enough information on her to figure it out. It would really help if I could find out who her parents were or to find someone who is connected to her. The only thing that is a possible, the kids mother told my husband she was part Native American and there is a lot in VA that are Vest. She told him it was through the Slay family which I doubt since following the Slay family. I even tried finding a birth record in VA. No dice on that one so far.
