A while back I wrote a relationship calculator for my own use. Recently I offered it for download on my website, and from the amount of people downloading it, I guess it must be useful. It's free, and I have versions for Windows and Linux. If anyone would like it, and if it's ok with the moderator, I will post links to the download. Les Hardy
I don't know that there is a download for this. I just know what was told to me when I reinlisted and was discharged. My pay for the last 6 years was based on my early reinlistments, both of which were during the Viet Nam conflict. It may have been something to do with war time reinlistment. But whatever, I was told that my actual time was less than my time for pay purposes and that my retirement date was cut by those same 6 months. It is probably just something that is in the paymaster and retirement regs. The weird characters are microsofts hidden characters for quotes. In Word etc. Ms use 3 hidden characters to make up special characters. Unfortunately they are not internet friendly. I don't quite get why they multiply though. If everyone sends their email in text only it will not happen. Les 1891 London census has: Bromley Civil Parish, Registration District: Poplar, All Hallows Ecclesiastical parish, London, England 30 Abbott Road Edward R Pounder, 36, Tailor Cutter, born London, Ada E Pounder, 34, born London Ada E Pounder, 10, born London, scholar Leonard E Pounder, 6, born London, scholar Thomas H Pounder, 1, born London George S Barnes, boarder, 26, Engineer & Fitter, b Cumberland Silloth Source Citation: Class: RG12; Piece: 328; Folio 29; Page 3; GSU roll: 6095438. In 1901, Ada E Pounder is in Little Wakering, County Essex: Ada E Pounder, 44, widow, Grocer shop keeper at home, b London (Bow) Ada E Pounder, 20, b London (Bromley) Thomas Pounder, 11, b London (Popler Harry Prior, nephew, 19, grocers assistant, b London Limehouse Source Citation: Class: RG13; Piece: 1685; Folio: 45; Page: 17. I found Leonard in 1915, as you did, but that's all I found. However, there were a couple of other Leonard Pounders, (but not Leonard E) so I'd be cautious that the one's I found in the census is the one you seek. Either he was "out of the country" for the 1901 and 1911 census, or his name was badly mangled by the enumerators. I have been unable to find Edward and Ada before the 1891 census -- again, suspect spelling to be an issue. Did find Edward Robert Pounder in the BMD marriages: Edward Robert Pounder -- Jan-Feb-Mar 1879, Poplar, London - 1c. 475 Ada Elizabeth Prior is listed similarly in Jan-Feb-Mar 1879, Poplar, London -- Vol 1c. p 475 Which matches the nephew in the 1901 census. But, why are they not in the 1881? There are 11 Pounders in Poplar in 1881, but none as Edward R, E R, or Ada Elizabeth, or any combination. Help! Two more a mother and son, in Islington, and one in Ratcliffe. The children appear in the FreeBMD as: Pounder, Ada Elizabeth, Poplar, 1 c. 687 -- Q2 Apr May Jun 1880. Pounder, Leonard Edward, Poplar, 1 c. 726 -- Q1 Jan Feb Mar 1885 Pounder, Thomas Harold, Poplar, 1 c. 651 -- Q3 Jul Aug Sep 1889 In the Free BMD Death Index, we find Edward Robert Pounder, 45, Rochford, Essex, 4 a. 315 -- Apr May Jun 1900 Ada E Pounder, 57, Rochford, Essex, 4 a. 614 -- Jul Aug Sep 1914. Leonard E Pounder, 68, Surrey, Surrey, 5 g 1166 -- Jan Feb Mar 1953 Could Leonard have joined the military bef 1901? He would be 15 or 16, seems a little young. Well, all I have. Hope this helps. Jeanne, I've had a look at 3 new installs of Google Chrome, and the only ad that I can see, is the google store which displays when the 'New Tab' is clicked. I checked in Win7 Xp and Linux. Is it possible you downloaded Itunes and set your homepage to the Apple store? Pat, Correct me if I'm wrong, and I could be, but I think 'username' in account settings will be a specific user name for the email account. If this is changed, the email account will not work. I apologize. What I meant was, at the top of that screen, it says "user information" and then "name." This is different from the "user name" in the box toward the bottom of the screen. Yes, indeed, if you change that, you have to change the "user name" with your ISP. Fred Click on "tools" at the top, then "account settings" then her account. Where it says "user name" put in whatever you want -- Susie, Sweetie Pie. . . . Also, click on "more settings" and where it says "type the name by which you wish to identify this account" and change it there as well. Also, check to see if you have a listing for her in your address book. If so, make sure it says what you want it to. See if that helps.
