Using Win7, 64 bit: 1. Of late, say the past three days, after deleting items from Word '07, they are not found in the recycle bin. This is a new occurrence; one that I do not like---just in case I find I deleted the incorrect item. How do I "fix" that problem, that is restore recycle bin to "hold" items for review before deleting? 2. A former colleague sent an email to me that is printed on beige/tan colored paper that contains a vertical line the entire length of his post. Transferring this email to Word '07, I am unable to remove the color of the paper and unable to remove the vertical line. I did read Word Help instructions re removal of lines but they don't work on this article. How might I "fix" this new problem? BTW: this former colleague passed away one month ago, so I cannot ask him to re-send on white paper with no vertical lines. Many thanks for any and all help. Fred, Sr.
I know we are not on relaxed rules but I would like to contact a knitter here that would have a pattern to knit a sweater for a very small little dog...about 6-7 pounds. Please contact me off list. THANKS. Maxine
Sorry to get technical, but in case there are any Ubuntu 11.10 users here. Ubuntu 11.10 has different library requirements, and this version of the relationship calculator is not compatible. Contact me and I will send you a different version just for 11.10. Les Hardy

Nancy, Windows has built in support for zip files. Right-click on the file you downloaded, and choose 'Extract All' from the popup menu. Then follow the prompts, and a folder will be created with the application in it. You can move the application anywhere you like to run it. Zip files are just compressed folders. It is a common way of transporting files across the internet. Could someone advise me as to what records are available for the London area 1885 to 1915. I'm trying to gather information on a Leonard Edward Pounder, who was baptised at All Saints, Poplar in 1885. He disappeared, and then turned up again in 1915, when he married Dorothy Gladys Brown in Sheffield, Yorkshire I was hoping to find out where he was for 30 years. All the rest of the family stayed around London and Croydon. In 1915 he was a marine engineer. Les Hardy

Please send to the list! I'm sure a lot of us could use it (it being both genealogy and computers on the list). Thanks! Connie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Les Hardy" <les@webmayo.com> To: GEN-NEWBIE@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, December 3, 2011 7:10:49 AM Subject: [GN] Relationship calculator A while back I wrote a relationship calculator for my own use. Recently I offered it for download on my website, and from the amount of people downloading it, I guess it must be useful. It's free, and I have versions for Windows and Linux. If anyone would like it, and if it's ok with the moderator, I will post links to the download.
