Tom and Cheryl MURPHY: This printout provided information that I did not know----such as how are Cousin John and I related, plus relationships more complicated to calculate even with help of available relationship calculator. For me, an invaluable resource. Thanks again for your time and help. This book is an awesome read! If you have a Kindle or Kindle reader on your laptop it was free as of last night. The book comes from the diaries, notes, and photos kept by Nonna Bannister as she grew up in Russia and during her years in German Concentration Camps. Nonna remained silent about all she had seen and lived through until very late in her life. After her death her husband, children and their mates worked to publish her works. Nonna, a very intelligent woman knew that sometime all that she had seen and lived through needed to be told to aid in such atrocities not being repeated. I found this through the site posted by Cora Hendricks on Gen *Newbie: * http://www.ereaderiq.com/free/ * * *Marilyn * -- "If you don't get outside every day, even for a minute, you have not appreciated what God has done. It makes you grateful for our surroundings, and it starts your day differently." Johnny Cash
Jim, thanks for additional help. I hope today to make the restore change. Someone a bit more knowledgeable than I could help get the .pst file into the right place after or you can just look at the location where it resides after the restore and then replace it there after deleting 2010. Hope for the best for you but do remember to copy and move the file to your documents and rename it temporarily. * Jim Hope* ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GEN-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

I'm pretty much certain I said that too! But I love my Kindle. I have so many books, most free, that I'll never run out of stuff to read. Amazon also has a Kindle Daily Deal (you'll have to look around their site for that, I can't find it, although I do have their email to me with today's offer). The other day I got Life of Pi for about 0.99 from the Kindle Daily Deal; I think it was a best seller. I am enjoying it immensely. I also have some books in actual paper that I want to read, but never get around to picking them up. New Years Resolution: read the books that aren't on the Kindle. Yes, that'll do. Connie I am such a hypocrite.....I said I would never get an ereader, that I loved books so much. I recently was offered an ebook free and I wanted it. It was only for Kindle. Well, <red-faced> I found an app called Kindle for PC on Amazon free and downloaded the book.
I bnought a prepared n2a card. Here's some information at Amazon about them. I insert it in the Nook and it then works as a tablet and is able to make purchases from the Android Market, etc. I admit that I prefer my laptop to a tablet, but that is primarily because of eyesight. For those who don't have problems with smaller fonts, the tablet is very very nice. I do use the tablets for Netflix, Amazon Prime movies, TV shows, etc. I like laptop, tablet viewing more than I care for big TV viewing. I think it's because I am distracted with peripheral vision items when I am watching TV, but am zeroed in on the tablet when I use it to view videos. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=n2a+card+for+nook&x=0&y=0 Elaine I think the world is run by C students. --Al McGuire Hello Beth On Sunday, January 1, 2012, you wrote > Elaine...what did you mean by the statement: > "Color which can be rooted > with a micro card to change it into a tablet". > I have a NookColor, and it does lots of things > that a tablet does, but I > have never heard of "changing it into a tablet" > I do love the NookColor! Your library has ePubs, Smashwords has ePubs, I do a lot of book loading from other than Barnes & Noble. Elaine I think my family tree is a few branches short of full bloom. Other than Barnes and Noble, has anyone found a good site to download free Nook books from? Thanks Debi
Thanks Elaine....I will look into this soon. Beth <snip> I bought a prepared n2a card. Here's some information at Amazon about them. Elaine...what did you mean by the statement: "Color which can be rooted with a micro card to change it into a tablet". I have a NookColor, and it does lots of things that a tablet does, but I have never heard of "changing it into a tablet" I do love the NookColor! Got it for Christmas last year. Thanks for your help. Ah, I forgot to mention music, my DC library system now offers three music downloads free each month. I just did Celine Dion singing in French. I love it when she sings in French. The downloads are free and can be kept, no expiration. SUPPORT your public libraries! They are wonderful places and taking a beating in the economic cutbacks. I use Kindle for PC as my main bookshelf, but I don't often read on the laptop unless I am waiting for something to arrive in email and read while waiting. I prefer the eReaders for reading. I have the Kindles (3 and Touch) and Nook (original, Touch and Color which can be rooted with a micro card to change it into a tablet), a Galaxy Tab 7, and a Sony original and Touch, they are all loaded with different books and always charged. I tend to read bios, true stories, cozy mysteries and have recently discovered time travelers and other paranormal, and I actually do enjoy steampunk. The reason I found these additional genre is because of the eReaders and free or dollar books. I would never have discovered them in a brick and mortar book store. Currently I am listening to the audiobook bio by Isaacson of Steve Jobs, reading the second in the Outlander series, and reading The Last Boy about Mickey Mantle. I read two Christmas related novels during Christmas week. I have an iPad 1, have decided to spend no more money until the iPad 3 is out. I will skip the second generation, but will be very interested in what the third generation will offer. I do love the eReaders and like the tablets just okay. I prefer the laptop to a tablet. I do stream movies and TV shows on the tablets and that gives them a reason for being. I like watching movies on a tablet when I am in the recliner. Nicer that the big TV. I don't text, but I do use email on my iPhone and iPod Touch. I rarely think of the tablets for that purpose. Elaine
I had a paper book I had started to read. Found the book hard to hold (heavy for my arthritis-ed hands), and the print hard for my old eyes....so I went on Amazon, found the book and d/l for 1.99; gave the paper book back to the owner...I think Kindle is the best of both worlds.... Here in Indiana we have the Evergreen system. Most of the libraries across the state are linked and you have access to them all. If your local library is on the system (mine is) all you need is your library card. -- Sheri FamilyTwigs <http://freepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~familytwigs/> TwigTalk <http://familytwigs.blogspot.com/> Indiana Trails To The Past <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/%7Eintttp/> SA Jackson County <http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Einjacktp/>Trails To The Past
