    3. I believe it is part of the Ancestry system. I know nothing about it, haven't even gone there to explore. I will take a look, but see if they let you do a search (without subscription you most likely cannot view results). If they say they hae information on your search names, then you might want to consider it. It always depends on what you need. Some will do real well at a website, others not so good. Elaine So little time and so little to do. --Oscar Levant Hello bruce On Saturday, January 14, 2012, you wrote > Is this site a good buy for the introductry price? ellen

    3. YEs I have tried using just all the children's names as well as his second wife who was over 30 or more years younger than him. I have also tried all the variations in spelling of Schneider. NOTHING! I use Heritage Quest for the census. 3. Ellen, What is that price? I think I pay something like $39 a year. I can get census pages, immigration info and military records all off there. Also, prior to it becoming Fold3, lots of people went in, including myself, and set up "pages" for some of their relatives they are researching. I put info out there hoping that someone sees it and contacts me about my husband's Grossl's and my Voigt's and Schulken's. I like it, it is fairly user friendly and as with a lot of sites you just need to figure out how to ask for what you are looking for. It is cheaper than Ansectry so that is a plus right there. With it and Heritage Quest through my local library I can find almost every census. 3. Valentine, That is why I put a direct link to the application! Donna was the first to reply, and I immediately gave a direct link. As for the previous application I offered. The cause of all the replies, was because I did not want to post a link on a public list. As soon as I realised what was happening, I set up a separate mailing list. Also, most of the replies I got were off-list. I realise I can't please everyone, but it doesn't take many email like yours to put someone off. If Elaine request I stop offering applications, I will do so. Otherwise, I will just assume you were having a bad day, and I hope you feel better tomorrow. I don't think you should discourage members from posting. For some, the 'me too' may have been their first post. I'm not sure who you were insulting with the comment of not knowing how to use it. Of all the downloads of all my applications, I do not know of one single member that could not use them. 3. The 1860 has Phillip Popp, 61; Catharine Popp, 59; Christopher Popp, 25; Simon Popp, 20; John H Popp, 16; Margaret Popp, 13; John C Popp, 11 All born Bavaria. Year: 1860; Census Place: Cinque Hommes, Perry, Missouri; Roll: M653_638; Page: 717; Image: 251; Family History Library Film: 803638. The youngest son was born in 1849 (or thereabouts) in Bavaria. The likelihood, then, is that they immigrated around or after 1850. The 1900 census of Perry County shows John C Popp, b July 1849, immigrated in 1851. Source Citation: Year: 1900; Census Place: Central, Perry, Missouri; Roll: T623_880; Page: 4A; Enumeration District: 74. Christopher, in Central, Perry county, MO, in 1900, also gives 1851 as the immigration year. I think you may find that they were not in the 1850 census because they were still in Bavaria. I am researching my Reeb/ Schneider (synder,Snider) ancestors. Jacob Schneider was to have married his second wife Barbara Popp around 1855. I was wonder ing if this was her father in the 1850 census and was she living with this family. 3. I've used RootsMagic for quite some time. I keep an old version of FTM on my computer, but rarely use it. I am tempted to purchase the diiscounted FTM upgrade in order to sync with Ancestry on-line. It seems like a good way to connect with family. Opinions please! Regards, Mary McCanney Finley

    3. Well, it's done. I ordered the HP 7510e All-in-one . If this one serves me as well and as long as the last one, I will be pleased.
