I just turned Norton off for the time it took to download and extract the files. I really won't be making a habit of this, though. Norton was on this computer when it was given to me, and was paid up, so I continued to use it. Prior to, I had never used anything but AVG. I really don't know how to make Norton accept this. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ETM" <etm1935@gmail.com> To: "Ridge" <gen-newbie@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 15, 2012 12:31 PM Subject: Re: [GN] Fwd: Giveaway of the Day > For Heaven's Sakes, can't you make Norton accept > something you know is okay? Thanks, Elaine - this looks like a neat freebie. I downloaded it. I have a bit of experience with photo retouching - it seems to have some neat photo corrective features. I dislike telephone lines in historical photos. :) Shari
Thanks to all who answered my call for help. ellen
Thanks Susan. Will go back and check the price again. Can't get Heritage Q thru our library but maybe things have changed. Will check tomorrow. ellen
I'm using Avast Pro and would like to know if there is a registry cleaner compatable with Avast. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Linda

Thanks Pat, My subscription for Ancestry is up for renewal and I thought maybe Fold 3 would offer sites that may not be available on Ancestry. I have used this today on several old photos and it works great. If I can do it so can you very easy. This is one of the prime reasons that I will not allow a Norton program on any computer I own or help out with. Why should some unknown person say what I can or cannot run on my computer. Did he pay for it? Does he own it? They act li9ke they do. When I ran a dial up bulletin board back before the internet became common, if a person was having problems connecting, he/she was ALWAYS running Norton. I remove Norton from my computers just as soon as I can. There's a good review at http://www.blog.thegenealogyreview.com/2011/05/20/26/ Most of my research is in Eastern/Central Europe and less in the US. I would do better spending money elsewhere. But for many this is a great spot to consider searching and networking. Elaine I have to remember that I loved this person just an hour ago.
