That is a similar to a tool bar , and you probable got it as an offere from something else you downloaded. It would help to know what that was, and it will most likely have to be removed too. give this a try , look for add ons to your fiefox browser and see if the name of any particular add on jumps out at you as to one you may have recently downloaded. Select and uninstall .. If that doesn't work try running malware bytes and scan your system,,, it's pretty good at finding things, but may not remove it as you have allowed to be installed, but it may ID it ...another hint is most who are getting this downloaded something fom a program publisher named softtonic...let me no if this works ,,if not there other ways to skin the cat... AVG 11 wanted to up date so I clicked yes just as a free trial offer for 13 popped up.After the 30 days was up I went to control panel and deleted it. AVG 11 is gone and I can't download a new free verison of AVG.It downloads in a bunch of folders/files,plus Internet Explore is not working normal, it want open mail or anything on my favoite list.I can close it out and it will work then. Is there another virus program that's good? Free is great but I don't mind paying for a good program that will work. Thank you for the help! Linda
As was stated before it was probable put on your system by the manufacturer and it it also allows them to give you some support. It is probable configured to run at certain intervals,, you might be able to change that. It is probable similar to System Mechanic, another maintenance tool popular among manufactures give a ways. Your choice ... Thanks Joy, I appreciate your answer and suggestions. I will read all of it. I had a feeling it was not all good or even good at all because of the way it popped up on my computer when I was doing something else and began to run a check up thru my computer. I have a virus programs that work well and had just run it without a problem. ARO 2012 told me I had over 1,000 virus problems. That definitely made me suspicious. Do a search and you will find a few different sites that tell you about it. CNET is one. Here is PART of what CNET says: ARO 2012 is the latest version of a longstanding Registry cleaner and optimizer. The look is familiar, but ARO 2012 offers several upgrades over previous versions, such as improved browser cleaning and user-friendlier settings as well as new tweaks that can yield better NTFS performance, faster startups, and improved CPU utilization. ARO 2012 also backs up and optimizes the Registry. You can schedule automatic cleanings, too.
