It appears that you have changed the default from color to black and white. Click on the top right furthest icon for menu, go to print, on the left side menu, check the color item. It should print again in color. Elaine For every complex problem, there is a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong. --H. L. The menu on my Laser Jet 1217 printer has left me and it is set on *installer svart kassett *when I turn the printer on. Just wanting to use this to copy prints. Is there any way to get this back to English on my menue? Just a few months old and can find no help from HP. Will I have to junk this thing or is there help somewhere? Emma
Jerrie, all your bookmarks are there for you. You just have to follow the instructions below to get to them. 1. Click on "Bookmarks" in the toolbar 2. Click on "Bookmark this page" 3. In the menu that opens, click on the arrow at the right side of the line marked "Folder" 4. Another window opens and in there are several selections and 5 of your folders show 5. Just above those folders is the line "Choose" 6. Click on "Choose" and all your folders will be available 7. This is where you can scroll down to the one you want 8. Click on the one you want and then click the radio button "Done" On 20/02/2013 4:04 PM, Jerrie wrote: > Hello Jim Hope and Elaine > Thanks for responding. Hello Jim Hope and Elaine Thanks for responding. I am using Firefox version 19.0 and this is what happens for me following your instructions. 1. At Firefox start page my Bookmarks Toolbar is OPEN at left showing my 100's of Bookmarks. 2. If i am at a web page I want to Bookmark I click on Bookmark this page at the top left. 3. The box appears with Name, Folder, Tags etc. I choose Folder and click on arrow and drop down opens. The box contains Bookmark Toolbar, Unsorted BM, and ONLY about 4 of my OWN Folders. There is no way to scroll to a folder of my choice to place the new web page into the category I want it in. I have many Folders named but I cant get to them this way to place the item in. The Bookmarks Menu is still open on the left. But I cant use this list. 4. In the past I have always been able to SCROLL in this box and put the BM in any Folder I want. Jerrie when you click on "Bookmarks" in the toolbar of Firefox it displays all your bookmarks. When you click on "Bookmark this page" you will see a box marked "Folder" you click on the arrow either on the end of that box or the one outside the box and then scroll through all your folders to the one you want. It has been this way for some time now that I know of. Firefox is now basically the standard that everyone else is copying because it works so well so you might just as well get used to it as you will find the same in other browsers as well. I have well over 100 folders and can drop a bookmark into any one of them as I choose. BTW, Firefox is now on version 19.0 On 19/02/2013 6:08 PM, Jerrie wrote: > Thanks for the reply Jim Hope and Elaine. When in Firefox, use the control key/B and your entire list of bookmarks will appear. Control key/H will provide you with a history of your surfing. Thanks for the reply Jim Hope and Elaine. I must clarify my question more clearly. I was in T'bird 17.3 email but thinking about Firefox, sorry. I know that Chrome and Firefox are both browsers. I dislike the way FIREFOX is now displaying the "Bookmark This Page" when I click on it. In the past it would show the whole list of my Bookmarks Folders. Now its just a short box with only a few listed and wont scroll to all my Bookmark folders. I have clicked and clicked and cant figure out how to get it to display them, before this version of Firefox updated. (I used to click on Bookmark this Page, scroll to the folder I wanted to place it in and click Done) Hope this is a more clear explaination of my question. The Chromebooks/boxes use Chrome as their native browser and they use Gmail AT the website. I have a Chromebook and find it pretty interesting. But I did not like the Chrome browser on my laptop and use Firefox there. I use a third party (paid) mail program so do not use mail that most here are interested in. Elaine If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong. Hello Jerrie On Tuesday, February 19, 2013, you wrote > I have used Thunderbird email for years but now > have version 17 and hate > it. Seems to me that you are confusing email with browser. First there are no bookmarks in Thunderbird they are in Firefox and I have used both programs from the day they were initiated and they look pretty much the same to me and work just about the same but have new improvements that come with each revision and BTW we are on version 17.0.3 right now for Thunderbird. I have used Thunderbird email for years but now have version 17 and hate it. Nothing looks the same and Bookmarks are impossible to manage. If I switched to Chrome browser what email program could I use? I need to be able to Import all my Bookmarks, Email and email folders into it also. Im not fond of the email program that comes with win 7. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards, Jerrie
So...I have an ancestor: Horatio Warren, born about 1805. Married Clarinda Hodgdon about 1830. They had four children: Charles, Tristram, Benjamin and Harriet. I have the birth dates and names of the children confirmed, and I have Horatio's death date from Parkman, Piscatiquis County, Maine town records. I have never been able to locate ANY info on Horatio other than that listed above. I suspect his father is Tristram Warren and his mother is Sarah "Sally" Swett of Buckfield and Parkman Maine. Here is why: Clarinda's Grandfather was Jeremiah Hodgdon of Buckfield, York county, Maine. Tristram Warren's father, Tristram and Jeremiah are listed in many of the same records in Bucksport/Bucksfield Maine. Horatio and Clarinda named one of their children Tristam Warren, born 1834. According to one account I found on Ancestry, the records for a Hudson, Maine burned and the person thinks that is where Tristram and Sally's children were born. I am still digging, may need a trip to the local Family History Center SOON to search Bucksfield and Hudson records. What do my genealogist friends think?? Am I reaching or does this sound right? Another researcher has already linked Tristram and Horatio with NO proof that I can find. Susan Boise, Idaho, USA
That's a real nice memory for your family history. I obtained Joe Theismann's for my grandchildren when we met him in his restaurant. They framed it. I think my son would have preferred his name on the picture Joe signed rather than his children <smile>. Elaine What was the best thing before sliced bread? Thanks. That will save money that I can put into a better computer. Thought it was okay, just needed some reassurance. Sorry... previous message should have read... planning to buy a Hewlett-Packard.
I will be buying a new computer in the next week or so. I now have a very nice monitor and speakers are not that important to me. The question is: How important is it to buy the monitor and speakers that are suggested with the new computer? I am looking to buy a H. Am currently using Dell monitor, etc. I've always bought the "package deal" but if I don't buy new monitor, speakers and keyboard, I can upgrade the operating system. After downloading 13 updates yesterday my computer failed to restart. After several attempts got a restart but could not do a system restore or disk check. Finally was able to do a disk check, and everything seems to be fine today. It's a Dell, 2007 Vista Home basic, which has given great service but I usually get at least 7 years from a computer. I know this one is on its way out so want to replace it before having any more trouble. I will not download any more updates. Just wondered what you thought about keeping same monitor, etc. Wanda
