    1. [GN] Happy St. Pat's whether you have a connection to the auld sod (Hibernia) or not!t
    2. Kathleen B. Simons
    3. I LOVE St. Pat's week (not just a day for me - I do a lot of stuff for the various groups in my life: church, family, work, etc.). We moved to a different floor in our office building yesterday, so I celebrated both St. Pat's and Pi/Pie day on Thursday. I made my Irish whiskey cake and then some chocolate-enrobed pretzel rods w/shamrock sprinkles for those who won't touch a drop of the good stuff. That went over quite well. I also met my daughter, Jennie, for lunch at the Amish market in Annapolis and picked up three lovely fruit pies (French Apple, Peach & Blueberry) for the rest of the office (the Iirsh cake is only enough for my staff and a couple of peers near my office). At the moment, three flat cut corned beef briskets are boiling away with some extra pickling spice in cheesecloth bundles. I will soon take them out, skim the water and put in the carrots, then the taters, and lastly, the cabbage. Tonight, a church group we are part of is having its monthloy meeting, so I am serving the main meal and others are bringing apps, desserts, etc. Two fo the briskets are for that and then the third I will shred a bit and add it to smashed taters, carrots and cabbage and fry it into a large pan of 'bubble & squeak' to bring to church fellowship lunch tomorrow. Lastly, as soon as I get home from church, I will cook up two more corned beefs for our family dinner and a family of dear friends are joining us. I am also going to have traditional brown bread, Irish butter, and Irish coffee cupcakes (adults) and mint chocolate cupcakes or brownies (kiddos). I ordered the Irish style wholemeal flour and really nice greaseproof cupcake liners from King Arthur Flour as well as some green shamrock sprinkles~ This is actually cutting back for me but glad I did as the packing for the office move about laid me out yesterday. My arthritis is much worse this past year and the bending and lifting reams of stuff to shred, etc. caught up with me despite my taking Aleve (my doctor permits it occasionally in limited amounts). The whole corned beef boiled dinner thing is more Irish-American than Irish anymore - though I did read an interesting article that said corned beef was more popular & known in Ireland back when massive amounts of beef (and pork for ham) was corned (brined) to make provisions fo rthe ships that sailed ot America, Australia, etc. - especially from the City of Cork - so the surrounding areas had many corned meat rpoducers - west county Cork is where my DONEGAN, HURLEY, SHEA, COUGHLIN, SCULLY. etc.ancestors hail from. So, a Happy & Blessed St. Pat's to all of you whether Irish or not!! ===== Kathleen Bowen Simons Falls Church, Virginia "I don't really care that they label me a Jesus freak - there ain't no disguising the truth." 3. OK, I have tried to find an answer and the only things I can find, seem to say that you need to use Windows Live Mail -- unless I am reading these two pages incorrectly. I tried to set Thunderbird as my default email program in Internet Explorer 9, which is what I have and so far, no luck. Guess I am no help, so my only advice is to do as others said, copy and paste the link into an email. 3. Yum! I like champ, too (chop up green onions into the milk you are going to use for mashedpotatoes and heat it without scalding it); a touch ogf garl;ic is good in them too! Bubble & squeak is basically fried up Colcannon with additional leftover meat cxhopped up in it (corned beef or ham is usual); we didn't do bacon but it would be absolutely fine! 3. This is about genealogy and about Ireland. My fathers, father was named James Francis Sullivan. My father always said he knew very little about his father and knew him as Frank Sullivan. I started this genealogical journey and started looking for Grandfather Sullivan. Slowly I found facts, his name is James Frances, he lived in Salt Lake City where he was a projectionist. Married a Belva Peterson, and had four children, one boy three girls. In his obit there was no mention of my father, his ever having been married prior (altho it is listed in the 1930 census), he was born in Kilkaney, Ireland and his parents were John Sullivan and Rose McGuigan. I few years back I located three of his children, Michael, Barbara, and Sharon. Belva and Sharon died w/in days of one another, one in Utah one in California. They are both listed as living in each others obits. When I tracked down Barbara and spoke with her, she was surprised yet accepting of the facts I stated. Did not know her father had ever been married prior to her mother. Did say he came over from Ireland when he was about 3 yrs old, and his mother had died prior to that. He, his father and a maternal Uncle had all immigrated together according to her. He had lived in Omaha, and Colorado according to what little he had told his children. She did mention siblings, told me she knew one of her sisters Patricia was living in Florida or so she thought, had not spoken to her in a long while. Told me that if I spoke with Michael not to tell him I had spoken with her. I did call Michael and try to talk with him. His wife would not let me, said they knew nothing, that Michael was hard of hearing and ended the conversation. I did offer to send, and did send, copies of all my proof of what I was saying to each of them. Never heard anything back from either. About a year ago in newspaper.archives I found a couple of articles about Grandfather Sullivan. He had stolen some money from the union he belonged to, $47 if I remember right, and took off. They found him in Florida and brought him back to Utah. I don't think it was prosecuted as nothing further shows up. He did continue to work for the movie theaters. I did try to contact his union but have never heard anything back from them. I also contacted the Catholic church they attended, they referred me to the family. Fast forward to this month. I signed up for six months of Ancestry, went out and started poking around. Found the Social Security death entry for him, had an AH HA moment and sent for his SSN application. It came back this past week. Listed his birth as 1901 not 1900 as his obit said. Birth place Muncie, Indiana and parents as John Sullivan and Lillian Shultz. Once again more questions than answers for this illusive ancestor. Spent two evenings looking for them in Ancestry, went out on genweb and rootsweb and nothing. I do firmly believe that EVERY James F. Sullivan known to man had a father named John. EVERY stinking one of them!!! LOL If anyone has any suggestions on where to go from here, I would love to hear them. I think I will contact Barbara again and see if I can get anything more from her. Michael died a year ago, so that door is closed. Susan Boise, Idaho, USA

Or on the grill. Connie I find the easiest way to send a link is to copy and paste it into an email I have created in my email program. Pat In Tucson Using Windows 7, I want to send a link by email to a page . Under “Page” there is an option to send page by windows live, which I do not want to do.. I do not want to send the page, I only want to send the link. Send link by email is grayed out... not active. Is there a way to send the “link” by email as we did in older versions of windows? 3. I've been watching your posts and I'd like ask a question. I need to print about 100 labels for my wedding invitations and from reading this post it looks like I'll need to do it in excel? Anyone willing to help me on this project would be greatly appreciated. I know very little about Excel. If you'd prefer to answer me personally that would be fine too. Thank you in advance Deborah Harris Sent from my iPhone On Mar 15, 2013, at 19:34, "Nancy" <[email protected]> wrote: > Well, I finally got my labels printed. Since they would not print after the Finish and Merge, I moved back to the Home tab and printed from there. It would only print one page at a time, so I had to click through 30 labels to the next page, then print etc. etc. etc. until all 236 labels were printed. > > Will I be membership chairman next year?
