    3. Yes, I do the same in Win7. Doreen is right on point. There were a number of security updates last Tuesday. Some caused some problems with third party software and so Microsoft issued more updates a day or two later. Tuesday is their regular day. I was among those who had some problems, so I uninstalled the updates (used a restore to restore to before the updates came in) and then reinstalled. The later updates caused me no problem. And not everyone was affected by the updates since it involved software on the specific computer. I am an early adopter of almost all security updates since I am on the computer day and night and want it secure. Some wait a day or two before updating. Elaine Light travels faster than sound. However, when that shields appears in my task bar or what ever and is located at the bottom near the time frame, this is what I do. Turn off the computer and it will ask me if I want to down loac update and and then the computer will turn itself off after the update it finish and I answer yes. I also use XP pro. 3. For the last couple of days a yellow shield keeps appearing in the task bar. It shows that it is downloading updates, but it never gets past 3%. Then it will disappear, only to reappear later. I have tried to determine what is updating but can't find out what. I have went to Windows update to see if there is an update that I need, but it doesn't show that I do. I have scanned computer with AVG, ran Ccleaner, Malwarebytes, Cleanup. Nothing found. Any ideas or is this just a windows update that is taking a very long time? Windows XP SP3 and horrors, dialup.

    3. I was looking at Ancestry.com earlier today and the viewing screen of Ancestry got smaller. There is a two inch margin on each side of the screen. The writing is so small I can barely read it. After I have a search page open, I can hit keys and enlarge the writing but not the screen. It cuts the sides of the screen off. I can move side to side to see all of the screen, but not all at once. I am talking aobut the suggestions page that opens after a census search or such. Using the squares between the red X to close and the minus to minimize the screen, but it does not get rid of the 2 inch margins at the sides of the page. I can't get the two parallel bars to pull the screen wider. More to the point of what did I do, is what can I do to undo it? Nancy W
