Sandy, I wrote to HP help, and this is what I got. I don't understand most of it! I don't know if going thru all this would help. I'm getting pretty discouraged... Do you think I should just consider the printer a lost cause? Another question: I've been having some problems with my internet. I go to Google, tell it what I want, and it brings up a list. I click on somthing in the list, and absolutely NOTHING happens! it just sits there, doing nothing. the list is in a purple color.... seems to me, it WAS blue, and changed to purple, when you clicked on something. Thanks, Nancy Tollefson -------- Original Message -------- Subject: HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer - C310a Date: Mon, 22 Apr 2013 20:09:05 +0000 (UTC) From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Hello Nancy, Thank you for contacting HP Total Care. After reviewing your email, I understand that your HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer - C310a does not print either in black or in color and spits out a blank sheet of paper. We appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue and regret for the inconvenience caused. We truly appreciate the trust that you have displayed in our services and us, and assure you that we will certainly try to live up to your expectations at any given point of time. * Cause: - =======* Nancy, the issue might occur if an inappropriate paper or incorrect print settings are used for the print job. It might also occur due to the *depleted ink cartridges or faulty printhead assembly.* So, I am providing you the resolution in simple steps. If you find any difficulty in performing the steps then reply to this message and we will get back to you. To alleviate the issue, we should perform the steps as mentioned below: - * Solution Summary: * ================== * Put the product directly into the wall outlet * Remove, Clean and then Re-install the Printhead * Web link for the issue * Power cycle the unit * Semi-full Reset * Troubleshooting: =============== Step 1: Put the product directly into the wall outlet* 1. The printer needs to match the operating system not the computer,, I will guess you have got win 8,,,printers that work win7 should work with win 8 , however if your worried about it you an check the requirements of your operating system at MS for compatibility. You will probable also get and answer if you google the printe model and use compatible with win( x ). cheers George & the sixPack -----Original Message----- From: Nancy Tollefson Sent: Tuesday, April 23, 2013 6:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [GN] computer specs. help needed. George, I think what I've got is Win7 - I've had this computer for at least 2 years, maybe more. It's an "Asus"... I'm not over fond of it, but it still works, so I'm not gonna replace it. (I wrote in to HP help, and got a list of things I could do at least 2 "pages" long! Most of which I didn't understand at all. I plan to forward that list to my tech at my provider - my local phone company. She's pretty good maybe she can make sense of his list! As far as the printer goes: the on button is lit- It tells me it's printing (not doing it, though)& the "touchsmart" screen on the printer lites up, and I can move the option icons on the touchscreen. So, that would indicate to me, that it's getting power... (I assume that if it wasn't getting power, NOTHING would work...) I have been having some problems with my internet, too. I click on something on Google's list... and not one thing happens... OOOOF-DAH!!! I didn't intend this to get so long.... thanks for allowing me to do a bit of venting. Thanks! I found that Picasa 3.9 works Windowns 8 (64 bit) even though it only lists XP/Vista and Windows 7. I answered myself so if anyone else wondered about it the answer would be here. Patricia, There is a learning curve with TMG, but the good news is it grows with you. Start with just the basic stuff, then as you need or want more it is there for you to learn. I've been using it for over 10 yrs and am probably an intermediate user at this time. I know there is stuff it will do for me, just haven't felt the need for it yet. They have a GREAT website and are really helpful, do take advantage of that. If you need to they also have training CDs. I got one of the tapes years ago and watched it to learn more than I was using then. I might be able to help with some stuff, ask and if I can I will. I know there are others on the list who use it too, and probably can answer even better than I can. Thanks for the information Elaine. I just found out yesterday afternoon that others were having problems sending and receiving mail as well. However, we still cannot receive or send through Lyle's Thunderbird account. His g-mail account is working okay. I am going to remove Thunderbird and see if a new download will help the situation. thanks Bruce. I have all that information. They are related to my family. Anna is buried there along with husband Casper Decker, along with Deinzers, Junkins, Deckers, Hedges , Amyx ,Kahls etc. I was just wanting to know what happened to Anna after Casper's death because they were married such a short time Dec 1873 . Died March 1875. Children born Herman Henry March 1874 -died maybe 1883. Catherine Caroline (Kate) my grandmother who married Albert Thomas Junkin. born Nov 1875-died 1976. I was wanting to see if Herman was alive in 1880. There is no burial record for him. I also can not find my great grandparents Nathaniel L Hedges and Katherine (Kate) Daugherty Hedges in the 1880 census. Nathaniel was born around 1845 in Indiana died around 1919 in Butler COunty Ohio. Katherine was born in Boston MA around 1844 or so and died around 1918 in Butler COunty Ohio. i went through 4 wards of Hamilton and didnot locate either families. Also if Ohio did state census as most of the states did, try for 1875 as well 1885. I have had luck with state census on several searches. I do not know if Butler county has ever changed boundary lines but give that a try as well. ellen > thanks Bruce. I have all that information. Try this for Butler County Ohio. Go to "Find A Grave". They have Decker names (about 60 plus and the time frame maybe correct for your family) and there are Hedges listed as well. I saw a Nathaniel Hedges in Butler Co cemetery as well. These names may be your clues. At least give it a try. ellen You may get lucky and find them all in the same area. Good luck. Elaine, You are so correct "something went terribly wrong." I found while Googling for my problem that there are lots of people having the same or similar problem and it is on G'mail's end. I've been able to put my mail on the iPad and I am using the same programs Lyle is using. My next step I guess is to just take my husband's Thunderbird off and try a reinstall and see if that helps. Thanks for emailing me back. I am beginning to to think that my life my be a lot more peaceful if I just packed up these computers and took a break. Thanks Gini. Something went terribly wrong, Yvonne. I have iPad and Touch and iPhone and have mail on all of them and nothing has ever been harmed by them. Elaine A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory. . . . Hello Yvonne On Friday, April 19, 2013, you wrote > Sorry Elaine, > My elevator is not going all the way to the top this morning.
