I have been reviewing the arguments for and against Virginia brothers Henry Awbrey and John Awbrey being the [gateway] sons of Sir William Awbrey of Tredomen, Breconshire (Will proved 1631). I haven't found any conclusive evidence that his sons emigrated to Virginia. One argument American descendants are using is they can only find one Henry Awbrey in Wales in the early 1600s (named as son Harry in will of Sir William), so it 'must' be the Virginian. I contacted the Aubrey One Name Study http://one-name.org/name_profile/aubrey/ .
