Someone who owned the castle (noble, gentry) could have had such a surname, but so could anyone who just lived there. The Danes adopted surnames late (late 19th century, early 20th century). Before then many Danes simply went by their given name, their father's name, and the name of the farm or village where they lived, so a Jens Christensen Springborg was simply Jens from Springborg, son of Christian, and if he moved after marriage, his son could have been Nels Jensen Flem. taf
